Eritrea quit the Intergovernmental Authority on Development in Eastern Africa in 2007 over soured relations with Ethiopia. However, things changed five years ago, when the two nations signed a peace deal. The missionary’s name is Bishop Slim, and he has served with Mission Cry on previous projects like distributing 2,000 Bibles on Osama bin Laden’s old compound. The majority of them were killed inside the student residence that was bombed while the others were found dead at the classes doing preps. The headteacher also added that the attackers abducted an unknown number of students. So far, 25 bodies have been recovered, and eight victims remain in critical condition. The actual number of people who were killed is yet to be established as more bodies are being recovered. There is wide dissatisfaction with the military junta that threw out the elected government and took over the country in early 2021. The junta invaded and worked destruction in Christian areas such as the Karen, Kachin and Chin states, but recently even the majority Burmese in central Myanmar have become disgusted with the junta’s actions. That they would know the hope God gives (Ephesians 1:18) and that the Holy Spirit will strengthen them (Ephesians 3:16) • It is the attitude of a heart sincerely seeking Him to which God responds with a blessing (Isaiah 58, Jeremiah 14:12, and 1 Corinthians 8:8)
