The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, says nearly 40 percent of all refugees arriving in Uganda over the last 14 weeks are from Sudan. More than 8.2 million people have fled their homes since the conflict started on April 15, 2023, making the situation in Sudan the world’s largest displacement crisis. Let’s look at the numbers differently: Uganda’s refugees now comprise 3.6 percent of the country’s population. Last week, Niger politely asked the U.S. to pack up and leave. The U.S. has been in Niger since 2002, assisting with the regional counterterrorism efforts. Todd Nettleton, a spokesman for The Voice of the Martyrs USA (VOM), describes it this way: “The U.S. is leaving, but Russian military advisors are arriving in Tunisia. [Niger] has told the U.S., ‘We don’t want to work with you anymore.’ They’ve also told the Russians, ‘We would like to work with you.'” Click here for more: https://www.mnnonline.org/news/terrorist-influence-growing-in-niger-as-us-military-departs/ Christian Man Jailed, Forced to Convert to Islam 4/29/2024 — Nigeria (International Christian Concern) The court did not uphold its end of the agreement, and Zachariah continues to be jailed and separated from his family. Additionally, because he converted to Islam, he has been cut off from Christian contact. Authorities are keeping a close eye on Zachariah because they do not believe his conversion to Islam was genuine.
