The military says that they were able to kill several of the militants, destroy seven of their gun trucks and chase them out of the town. Her brother Samvel only recognized her by her clothing. Relatives also reported that Tomasyan’s feet, hands and ears had been cut off as part of her torture. These types of atrocities are reminiscent of those committed during previous pogroms and genocides against the Armenian Christian community. During the raid, the military says that a desperate insurgent drove a vehicle loaded with explosives into the military, killing six soldiers. During the attack the gunmen separated men from women, interrogating them to identify non-local travelers. Fortunately, there were no Christians onboard and nobody was killed. This attack came just a week after Yusuf converted to Christianity. Boko haram had raided the village of Mozogo in the Mayo Tsanaga, Cameroon. Many of these villagers ran to a local park for hiding. As they entered the town, they shot sporadically throughout the area, scaring the villagers to all run. Unbeknownst to them, Boko Haram had a small girl hide among the villagers while wearing a suicide vest. This group is currently the strongest and most prolific of the groups, and has recently tied itself to the Islamic State (ISIS). The 25 people killed in this attack were farmers who were working their fields at the time.
