Jesus is “the true light that gives light to everyone” ~ John 1:9

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others. ~ 1 Peter 4:10

We have that light shining through our lives if our actions reflect the nature of Christ – His love, compassion, and forgiveness. His light shines through our attitudes, words, and deeds.

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. ~ 1 John 5:5

What keeps our light from shining?... Has sin dulled the evidence of Christ in us?

If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, If my people who are called by name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  – II Chronicles 7:13-14

COMMUNITIES OF THE PERMIAN BASIN
Let us PRAY for peace, comfort, wisdom and patience for the families and businesses that have been affected by the economic downturn due to low oil prices. “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” ~ Psalm 112:7

AWAKENING
Give thanks for all the Lord is AWAKENING IN YOU!! There is power in His blood and the name of Jesus Christ. May others experience the goodness of this truth and have an encounter with the Living God in this season! Pray for our local and global churches; for our pastors to stand firmly on the Word of God.

GOVERNMENTAL LEADERS
Pray for our leaders to stand firm on God’s Word. Give thanks we have leaders that are in the Palm of His Hand! Isaiah 41:13 May they call upon Him for wisdom.  May they give Him thanks for the peace and order that He brings.  Give thanks for God fearing men and women serving in these positions.  

PERSECUTED BELIEVERS
We lift up our brothers & sisters & those yet to come that they may know He is present in their midst and hears their prayers.  Let us pray that even in the midst of dire circumstances and even in the midst of severe threats and actions of death they will have the grace to STAND NO MATTER WHAT and not forsake Jesus Yeshua Isa – Son of the Living God.  Lift up where ISIS (or affiliate) is controlling in places like Nigeria, Middle East and Algeria, etc.

ISRAEL
Lift up Israel and individuals within the country (Jews & Arabs alike). Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May those who love you prosper, Psalm 122:6, Pray that Israelis will move forward with the leader that the Lord appoints. May there be peace.

October 11, 2016 – Pray for Habiba and her three children, aged 3, 6 and 8, who have had to leave everything behind to follow Jesus. When Habiba’s husband discovered she’d become a Christian six weeks earlier, he locked all the doors and beat her with sticks. He told her she should die for leaving Islam.

Pastors Arrested And Churches Set For Demolition As Persecution Increases In Sudan
Published October 11, 2016 — Six Christians were jailed in Sudan last week for refusing to hand over church property to the government, persecution charity Open Doors reports. The three pastors and three church members were arrested and briefly detained on 6 October in the town of Wad Medani when they refused to hand over a school.

In this country, the very act of owning a Bible is punishable by death. An estimated 25% of the Christian population lives in prison camps, comparable to Auschwitz, Germany. The others must keep their faith a secret.

Muslim Extremists in Kenya Kill Six, Injure Dozens in Attack Targeting Christians
October 10, 2016 — An Islamic extremist group has claimed responsibility for a deadly attack in northeastern Kenya that left six dead and dozens injured, saying it intentionally targeted Christians. "We are behind the Mandera attack. During which, we killed six Christians," said Sheikh Abdiasis Musab, leader of Al-Shabab, an Islamic extremist group affiliated to al-Qaeda, the BBC reports.

TERROR ATTACK IN KENYA LEAVES 6 DEAD
October 08, 2016 – The terror attack on a Mandera residential compound has been claimed by Al-Shabaab. “We are behind the Mandera attack. During which, we killed six Christians,”…The attack left six dead and about 27 injured.
